Michael Moore

Michael Moore is a controvertial documentary maker; he exposes flaws in political systems and is known for being a conspiracy theorist. He is American and his documentaries focus on aspects of Americal life, culture and belief. He has a very engaging and personal style when presenting information; his topics are often taboo as are his opinions.

His documentaries are some of the most popular and most watched in the world; four of his documentaries are in the world top ten. These are:



  1. Sicko

  2. Farenheit 9/11

  3. Bowling for Columbine

  4. Capitalism: A Love Story

Michael has an enormous cult following and [eople are interested in his views on all aspects of American life and culture. He keeps people up to date with his opinions on political events on his blog:

Creating your PowerPoint

Your task is to create a PowerPoint on an aspect of documentary. You may choose to do the following:

1. A documentary maker - NOT one that we have already studied

2. A documentary series (for example - Ross Kemp on Gangs, Panorama, My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding)

3. A mode of documentary (for example Observational, with examples such as Big Brother, The Only Way is Essex, What Katie did Next)

4. A tv channel that specifically screens a variety of documentaries (for example MTV - Teen Cribs, Gordie Shore, 16 and Pregnant)


All PowerPoints must contain


  • 10-12 slides

  • Written information on the documantay series/maker

  • Still images of the documenmtary with some annotated notes on conventions

  • Hyperlinks to other websites

  • Images

When your PowerPoint is complete load it onto SlideShare and put it on your blog.
